Sloughhouse Sunday

This afternoon we decided to take a little trip out to Sloughhouse for their world famous corn (okay, maybe not world famous, but defiantly county famous!).  We needed up getting WAY more than just a few cobs of corn...in fact we ended up with 27 cobs of corn, some kiwi's, a couple of purple bell peppers (crazy, right?!  I had never seen a purple bell pepper till today!), a few red bell peppers, a giant zucchini, an Armenian cucumber and an English cucumber, a bag of oranges, a bag of grapes, a bag of apples, a handful of plums, a few plutos and nectarines, some lemons, spinach, kale, grapefruits, tangelos, a bundle of carrots, jalapenos, tomatoes on the vine, cauliflower and broccoli, and a couple of pears.  Oh, and I can't forget the pretty sunflower/wild flower arrangement and the bag of fresh made kettle corn :)

And I am going to finish this day doing this :

And that was our Sunday Funday :)

Daisies and Duckies

A few weeks ago, my grandma from Michigan sent Miss Lennon Rose a package.  Lennon was so excited to open her "presents for meee".  Inside were 3 handmade goodies: a little elephant stuffed animal, an A-B-C fabric quilt book, and the cutest yellow daisy/polka dot reversible dress with matching headband!  So cute!  But because of Sacramento's freakishly cold spring, Lennon hadn't gotten a chance to wear it...till today.  Lennon's yellow dress and mid 80's degree weather called for a trip to the park to blow some bubbles and chase some ducks and squirrels.

Pretty stinkin' cute, huh?!  As soon as I got her dressed and headband on, she told me "I pretty, Mama!"  My girl definitely does not lack self esteem...but I have to agree with her.  She is one pretty, pretty girl!

Well, I tried!!

To Tom or not to Tom??

They are the shoe that is almost ugliest enough to love...and I think I want a pair, or two.  Besides the awesome-ness of what they give for every pair bought (for every pair bought, they give a new pair of their shoes to a child in need), I think they look comfy.  I found a few pairs that I thought would work good for my everyday life...like

or/and...

But, then I saw these...and knew that it was a must.  I love, love, love these...and I know my favorite little girl would look too cute with our matching shoes!

Now all I have to do is convince Matt that these shoes aren't a want...but a need!  I think I am going to try the "But it is really like buying 4 pairs of shoes for the price of 2" route.  Wish me luck in my new pink, sparkly shoe adventures!!
